Iced Lavender Cold Foam Americano
A long title for a relatively easy coffee drink that tastes super fancy! The most advanced ingredient in this recipe is probably the lavender syrup, but it's definitely an ingredient worth sourcing out in my opinion, especially if you like floral and fancy coffee drinks. Let me know if you give this one a go and send me a pic or tag me @mealsbymiri on Instagram so I can see!
Ingredients: 1 double shot espresso
2tbsp vegan whipping cream (I used Gryr)
2tbsp oatly barista milk (plus a few more splashes as you whisk)
2 tsp lavender syrup
Add a double shot freshly brewed espresso to a shaker along with a handful of ice cubes. Shake well until foamy and pour into a glass over more ice cubes. Top with cold water until the glass is almost full, leaving about 2-3cm for the cold foam on top.
Make the cold foam by adding the whipping cream, barista milk and syrup to a glass or tall container. Start whisking using a milk frother until it's nice and aerated. Add more milk as needed until you have a light foam with your desired consistency. The exact quantities might vary depending on your whisk, the brand of cream/milk you use and the shape of your container, so you really have to just try it out and find out what works for you. Pour on top of your iced americano, give it a little stir and enjoy!
